The Talebs this morning made what seemd like a concerted
effort to inflict some casulties in and around KAF.Early a.m. this morning a bomb was found on one of the many
service trucks that enter the base daily. These trucks carry
anything from fuel to water and are affectionatly known
as Jingle trucks due to all the decorative trimmings.About the same time we had Talebs outside the wire,
in close proximity around the base and had alot of outgoing helos and troops.Reports are still sketchy, no body counts that we have
heard as of yet, but Ill keep you posted as well as
any contractor type here could be expected, basically
what the troops returning from the field tell us
and incoming bodies and wounded. Usually a few Taleb
prisoners to boot.Just wondering if anyone else in country had the same
problems today as we are experiancing here? - November 24, 2004 at 9:51 pm #5807AnonymousMember
Keep us up to date when you can. Be extra cautious because of the luck you have been having lately.
I saw pics of your wedding recently…Good job! (she’s gorgeous)

Thanks Kurt,
Not to many ways to be cautious on base, we pretty much
rely on base security. We are just kind of here, and whatever
and whenever they throw something at us about all we can do is
go to the bunkers, but its not very often. Our company unfortunetly has a “no weapons” policy but there
is an amory in our living area. If you saw some of the troops
“guarding us” you would have to laugh. If anything serious ever
did happen here I think it would be up to us.Yesterday 2 troops KIA and 1 wounded seriously wounded
by a IED just a few clicks from the base. Somebodys family
is going to have a bad turkey day. - November 25, 2004 at 10:21 pm #5809AnonymousMember
That sucks. I always feel bad for people who lose family members but on a holiday it would be especially traumatic.
