Sounds like a cool name for a rock group. It is also seemingly a common feature amongst kids in Pakistan, particularly up in the north, foreign cyclists being the recipients, plus it happens around Baluchistan as well. I even had some kids chucking stones up in Swat Kohistan while I was in the back of a 4WD. What other places in the world is it common for kids to throw rocks and stones at tourists?

Met a few of this species in Jordan. As luck would have it, I had also made friends with the local school headmaster. He knew exactly who the culprits were. Justice was swift and harsh.

…dodgy northside suburbs is the only place I’ve had stones thrown at me. Leading up to Guy Fawkes night (NOV 5th) is worse when they throw those big fuckoff fire crackers instead. The only other thing I’ve copped is water bombs in Cambodia and Thailand during Songkran, and a lot of dirty looks.

Water during Songkran aside, I have never had anything thrown at me and I have been to both Pakistan and E Jerusalem.

Was it because of your movie star good looks or winning personality?

Moviestar look or winning personality?
Can’t be either, I have met the guy!
I think it is because they missed and he was to drunk to notice it.
And as everybody knows, close only counts with handgrenades… - December 3, 2004 at 8:25 am #4138jcbierley1Member

Only one place that I’ve been, where I noticed this was an issue: Uganda.
Specifically up around Lake Bunyonyi in the west, near Kabale.Bastard nearly got me, too!
