And I’m worried about getting enough beers and working on my tan. It’s quite nice to read the news from back home, and knowing I won’t be there to be a part of the tri-annual major snowfall mess:

Winter blast hits B.C. coast
WebPosted Jan 6 2004 12:27 PM PSTVANCOUVER – A major winter snowfall is blanketing Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley – with much more snow expected throughout the day.
A severe weather bulletin predicts up to 30 centimetres of snow on Tuesday – with winds of up to 90 kilometres an hour on the north and west coasts of the Island, and 60 kilometres an hour in the south.
The morning rush hour in the Lower Mainland was relatively light, as commuters stayed home and avoided the worst of the storm, which is expected to be felt in Vancouver later Tuesday afternoon.
The Vancouver area could be hit with up to 30 centimetres of snow before it turns to rain by Wednesday.
