You’re some snapper mate. Self-taught or done the course?
- January 23, 2010 at 7:43 am #11611ROBKeymaster
No courses, but I whored myself out to a pro tog in Japan who taught me a ew tricks and since then I have been reading everything I can get my hands on and practicing as much as I can.
In fact I just ordered a new Nikon D90 today!

Good move. I’m liking what I’m hearing.

Don’t even know what type of bird this one was. Also in the bird park. He was very friendly and let me get extremely close. Probably less than a meter when I took this shot. His buddies weren’t so understanding.

Looks like some sort of stork.

Another hornbill having a snack. He was torn between letting me get close and continuing to feast.

Cloudy the Border Collie herding cattle at 100km per hour in New Zealand.

Hahahaha, that is quality, I’m gonna use it as a screensaver

It was actually quite scary watching that dog work. She got barrelled over underneath the cattle’s feet as they’re charging quite a few times when we watched her. Didn’t seem to phase her at all. Her partner dog was much more reserved and calculating.

It was very odd to wake up to a city looking like this. My gf and I woke up at about 5 AM and looked at each other, like ‘what the fuck is going on’ and raced to look out the window. We have had dust storms before but nothing like this and nothing so red. It felt ecactly how it looks in the pic.
I also had absolutely NO idea how to take a photo in these conditions.

Love it, Brighton is full of street art, I should really get out there and photograph it
- September 16, 2010 at 11:23 pm #11640ROBKeymaster
Yeah, you kind of don’t even see it when you live surrounded by it all the time, but it makes for a fun subject to shoot.

Rum & Tequila, leave it at that :o
- October 6, 2010 at 11:16 pm #11622ROBKeymaster
I think you’d need Rum and Tequila after working in that place. It is depressing as shit. It’s also in the middle of a fairly well-to-do area and the only reason they haven’t knocked it down and turned it into apartments is that it is full of asbestos.

Another from Taman Negara – unfortunately, converting these to jpg for Flickr takes away a lot of the sharpness. Not really sure what to do about that.

Photoshop unsharp mask filter?
Like so… (Amount = 80%… Radius =1 pixel)
- November 10, 2010 at 10:18 pm #11644ROBKeymaster
Yeah, that’s certainly a lot better. Might play around with that. Cheers.
The RAW file is still at the top of the pile, but no photo sharing site seems to allow RAW files. Too big I guess.
