Everryone has their own system but it’s always good to hear new ideas.
What would you have in your pack for two months in Asia –
Viewnam, Cambodia, Thailand, China, Tibet, Japan? - October 9, 2003 at 9:00 am #4468kramerMember
Meds, Guidebook, novel, walkman/radio, toiletries, flip flops, chuck taylor shoes, odds and sods (like torch, calculator, clothes line etc.) I’d buy most clothes while there although underwear aint quite as good as in the west.
Japan – i’d have room for a sharp stick for self-defence. i hear the expats there are weirdos.

Small med kit, BASIC clothes. Workable sneakers/walking shoes. I take my pack everywhere i go – small 30 litre job by Tatanka.
I would try to buy most of my stuff in those places – especially clothes.
If you’re gonna be stopping by Tokyo, drop a line and I’ll buy you a beer.

The Japan part is still coming into focus, but I’ll take you up on it if we’re there.

If I went to Japan first I would pack more clothes but once I got to the other countries I would just buy clothes.
Toiletries and stuff too.

Thermals for Tibet – it gets fucking cold at night; if you plan on getting around on motorbikes a lot in SEA then consider bringing a kidney belt & a slightly more extensive first aid kit with some stong pain killers.
