cost is no object. Looking for a replacement for tired but true Cannon A300 Sureshot. Industrial photos primary, normal family/nature/day at the beach secondary. Help?

Money no object?..well thats easy.
You could either go for the best digital SLR on the market at the moment which is the Canon EOS 1ds mark2. 16.7 megapixles.
( i use one.it is the daddy)
$6,869 + tax from B&H in the US,
or rrryou could go meduim format with a Phase 1.P45 39 megapixels.
about $10,000 +tax USD.

let me rephrase “within context, cost is no object”
CONTEXT:
Cannon A300/Printer/paper = $500 USD
Industrial photography = non-award winning photos of my power plant as it’s being built
RiverRat = non-award winning, non-aspiring photographer. takes pics of naked women when possible, pics of job because he’s expected to.

You could try the Nikon D50.
Affordable (RRP £599 including 18-55mm DX Nikkor zoom lens) and much better than that Canon crap. ;o)Details here – http://www.nikon.co.uk/sites/epz/winad50.aspx

Ok so here are a few options for ya
Id reccomend this one:
Canon have just released the EOS 400D which retails for about 500 pounds.
If thats to pricey then have a look at the 350D which will set you back about 700 bucks US.
Then theres the Nikon D200 which goes for about 1700 USD.
(Although the EOS 400D is cheaper and has better specs.) - September 28, 2006 at 11:13 pm #8223RiverRatMember
Lee, WTF–is this even believable? My dad, God rest his soul, always said if it sounds (looks) to good to be true, it generally is.

I don’t know about you, but when I see naked women, taking pix is the last thing on my mind.

Gyppo–what you need to know about this part of the world is that Latin women (especially Brasilian women) consider it a form of foreplay. After all is said and done I really don’t mind as the rewards far outweigh the sacrifice. 8) :D 8)
