It’s called Nomihodai and it is Japanese for all you can eat and drink at the price of about $20. (A surfire way to go bankrupt for restauranteurs in Australia, but apparently not Japan).
Predictably painful consequences.
I recommend it for those passing through these parts.

How much are drinks normally?

Actually a beer from the 7-11 is pretty cheap ($2US) but it gets expensive when you start going to trendy bars in Tokyo. Like $10 US for a beer.

ROB,
Is that the word for any generic all you can eat restaurant in Japan or for a specific chain of restaurants named to connotate eating a lot (i.e. US restaurants named Hardy’s, Country Buffet, China One Buffet, HomeTown Buffet, Kings Table, Spaghetti Bucket, Trough and Puke, Binge and Purge, etc. okay the last couple aren’t actually american restaurant chains yet.)
I suspect that it’s a generic term, yes?
