I admire your patience.

Espargos, Island of Sal.
The town is named after a member of the Asparagus plant family that grows in abundance in the desert around these parts.
And, no, the dog isn’t dead… it’s just sleeping.
Espargos and the surrounding barren landscape.

First sight of the town of Paul, Santo Antao… This is my idea of the end of the world. It took two flights, a ferry crossing over rough seas and a minibus ride across 50 miles of cobbles to get there, but it was worth it.

Nikon D200 with the 18/200VR glass.
I brought my gallery up to date recently also, at http://www.maddogphotography.co.uk
Might be digging the walking boots out soon and heading out again after a year’s absinence. Not sure where, yet.

Mate, This Christmas, I finally took the step of learning how to use Photoshop properly. Not just resizing, cropping et al, but how to use layers, layer masks, unsharp mask filters, lab colour, black and white conversions, automated actions…. the lot.
If you’re not already there, I couldn’t advise strongly enough to get a copy of CS3 or 4 and dive in. I only wish I’d done this years ago!
Was the D5000 a Christmas present?
I treated myself to an iMAC 27 and a MAC Book Pro 13.

Cheers for the tip.
The camera was a ‘holy shit someone actually bought my in the middle of no-where Canadian house’ present.I had camera envy while on my Djibouti/Somalia pirate trip.

Didn’t realise you’d been out to Djibouti.
Any pics? Or were you without a camera at all?

I got a few good ones with a Fuji finepix but the other guys had proper jobs and had some fuckin’ amazing pictures.
I did get a couple of ok pirate pics.Unfortunately I’m just as lazy as you remember me and haven’t put them onto my new computer or a photo site……but that may change now.
