Went up there last month as a tourist. Didn’t try to get anywhere too controversial.
But jeesh, was easy as hell to get around. Very few scams. Some of it was poorer than I anticipated, but not grotty poor.
Didn’t see any honkies for the first 3 or 4 days I was there.
Bagan is touristy though – mainly Chinese.
If you want a pretty laid back place to just hang out, it’s probably worth getting there before it becomes a tourists hell hole. Countries spending money there like there’s no tomorrow. Trying to keep the Chinese out.
Cool! I am still pretty happy in Latin America and a shame, I saw Dogtanian was in town while I was herer, but, being banned and all, lol. I still in Penta like fashion view the site every now and then in some perverse interest. Such a cadre of good guys for a while. Old Pelton as Jack Nicholson says: Can’t Hand the Truth!”
