So far just talk. He hasn’t been nominated by his Party yet.

Rumour (polls) have it that Keiko Fujimori is favoured by a 20% margin. Best guess is she’s a chip off the old block and will continue dad’s iron fisted policies, with him advising after she pardon’s him, of course. Most likely scenario is she’ll go after the remainder of the Sendero, and make coca eradication a top priority along with the attendant collection of US drug money, a war on narco’s etc. etc. Word on the street is she’s also considering inviting the US in to set up some permanent military bases as well, under the pretext of “advising” Peruvian troops against the Sendero. She’s a shoe-in amongst the population of the Selva who still look upon her father as some sort of god.

Stand by, elections, both Presidential and Congressional, coming April 10th next year.

I wonder what was on his menu.

You can bet it won’t be found in any 5 star restaurant.

Well, as of Saturday evening Germany has secured Third Place and I have received many, many, good recipes for octopus, not the least of which is a good Peruvian ceviche recipe.

      Very.

Especially when one is living in the midst of the fallout and tasked with attempting to explain it to the innocent victims.

An awkwardly embarrassing mess at best.

Apparently that is what the good Brother will be doing in the future.

Alan Garcia’s government is forging ahead with the sale of oil and gas leases in the Amazon and the rest of Peru and the world be damned.

As far as he’s concerned it’s just a fuckin’ jungle and of little to no value outside the oil and gas.

The first time he was President he emptied the treasury, this time he’s going to leave a wasteland behind, as well as lining his pockets. And those of his cronies as well.

      Wrong Lee,

If it were American software, Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Ingushetia wouldn’t even be on it and Georgia would be considered as a Southern state, just north of Florida.

Sorry to hear you’re down with the Devil’s Dengue, Doc.

Small village near our chacra, Nuevo Requena up on the Rio Aguaytia, has reported 38 cases since January. That’s alarming considering there are less than 200 people in that pueblo.

I’ll stick with the malaria, none to good, but not nearly as bad as the “Break Bone”

      Get well soon, Doc

It’s all about marketing really. Don’t get me wrong, I hate Micrososft, their OS and everything else even remotely connected to them, however the slate-style computer is not an Apple innovation. Fujitsu, which makes a hell of a good machine, had the jump on Apple by quite a few years, actually they were the innovators when it came to that style of machine. Problem being the fucked-up Microsoft OS.

I have never been able to understand why the world embraces Bill Gates’ garbage when Linux (Apple OS is Linux based) is so much better, it’s free, isn’t crash prone and no one engineers viruses for it. And to add insult to injury Microsoft doesn’t even use their own shyte, their internal servers are Unix OS. The sheer hypocrisy of that alone is overwhelming.
