      The decree was state-sanctioned impunity. But will repealing it make any real difference? I doubt it. They’ll just carry on with the usual obfuscation and delay, won’t they?

      What a shame. It was pretty spectacular stuff.

      I always wondered if such ritual displays of hostility (a bit like highly invested competitive sports) could reduce the rate of actual warfare. I don’t know how you could make a study – what would you use for a control?

      Since I’m on, I might add that Gillian Duffy was apparently more upset that Brown called her “that woman” (she’d have preferred “lady”) than “sort of bigoted”. Which is peculiar.

      and some tech person came on, typed:

      and went away again, without any suggestions as to how I was supposed to do that. This is the best I can do. ;)
