What are the most popular places in the world for western Expats now?

Costa Rika
Mexico
Thailand
Philippines

What I meant to ask was “What are the best places for Expats to live, that have the most advantages for someone who wants to live overseas.”

-A place that is relatively inexpensive to live in (for any class of lifestyle)
-Loose residency requirements or ones that are east to “get around” (like visa runs in Thailand)
-A country that has Liberal lifestyle views, you can more or less do what you want as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone.
-Has business opportunities
-Good weather
-Is a fun place to live

So places like Hong Kong and Singapore are great Expat cities but they wouldn’t count because there too expensive, or a place like Columbia would be great except for the crime or Jordan because of the lack of women’s rights.

I think that places like Thailand and Costa Rika would probably top the list.
