People go into a restaurant or shop and sit down for a cup of tea or coke and the next thing they know they are being taken off by a couple of armed men, they do this to anyone who is from outside Dara with any kind of money, even fellow Pathan's. Therefore, the main reason for trying to keep tourists out is for their own safety. In Sean's case, I guess he hooked up with the right guy but for everyone else I would recommend you not try to go into Dara for your own safety.
